The hotel is situated in the heart of the medieval city, the hotel is just outside Monk Bar, less than 300 yards from York Minster. The city walls are just across the road from the hotel and the waterfront is close by to enjoy a stroll. The hotel is easily accessible and provides good access to A59 and A64, routes to nearby Harrogate and Leeds.
The rooms are all well appointed and decorated in a traditional style with warm welcoming colours. All rooms have TV, alarm clock, telephone, hair dryer, trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms are in a good condition, as are the bathrooms.
The restaurant offers both a la carte and table d'hote menus, whilst the informal Bistro has a budget menu. There is also a coffee shop and two bars.
The Exterior is Modern, red brick building with welcoming greenery. Parking available, but may be limited for coaches. The lobby is medium in size with traditional decor and ample seating.
