This hotel is situated in the west end, two miles from the city centre. The hotel is a short walk from the pavement cafes, pubs and restaurants of the West End and the Byres Road area. It is also close to the Royal Concert Hall and Kelvingrove Park. Excellent property on the outskirts of the city in its chic west end.
The 137 rooms are medium in size, with a beautiful chic modern decor with earthy colourings and dark woodern features. The are comfortable and of a high standard with LCD TV, Sky TV, laptop Safe, direct dial telephone, modem point, free WIFI, Blackout curtains, ensuite bathroom with power shower.
There is a split level restaurant featuring that has an extensive range of dining opportunities. These range from a light bite or bar snack in our bar and lounges, to a relaxing, leisurely lunch or dinner in the Brasserie. Dining at the Pond is a very relaxing, informal experience. The brasserie enjoys an excellent reputation with discerning local visitors and residents alike, for imaginative, creative fresh cuisine, featuring a fine range of fresh local produce in season, and of vegetarian dishes and healthy food options.
The hotel is a modern property which was built in 1970 and overlooks the boating pond from which it takes it's name. Don't be fooled by the hotel's grey exterior, the hotel is perfectly refurbished indoors. The hotel also offers extensive parking for guests and coaches. The lobby is medium in size and has a large seating area. It is modern in design, with the bar and lounge area to the size.
Although official a 3 star this hotel delivers the service and standards of a very good 4 star. Provides excellent value with exceptional standards.
