Overview
3 Star, Superior Tourist Class Traditional Hotel
This hotel is situated a short walk from Haymarket station, in the west end of Edinburgh. The airport is under a 15 minute drive and Princes Street under 5 minutes by taxi.
The rooms are all individually designed with furnishings and fabrics from India. All bedrooms are large and named after districts and aspects of colonial India. There is an attention to detail, such as movie reel and an old film camera in the 'Bollywood' room. The bathrooms are very sumptuous and tiled with original Indian tiles.
There is no restaurant, continental breakfast is served in the lounge. The hotel is a traditional Georgian building, set back from the roadside. Statuettes of elephants stand sentry at the entrance. The lobby is small, but cosy furnished with fine furniture and artifacts from India.
The UK's first Indian themed hotel! Opened in 1999, the rooms are in excellent condition and it is a different, and very attractive property for a visit to Edinburgh.
